Port Antonio, the undiscovered gem of Jamaica

Driving further and further east, the area becomes fairytale green. It is unique, unspoilt and enchanting.
When you stay in Port Antonio, you want to visit this area and then enjoy the beach of an idyllic bay. Immerse yourself in the impressive surroundings of the northern Blue Mountains (up to 2256 m high) – or in the calm waters of the Blue Lagoon. Take a bamboo raft trip on the Rio Grande, learn about coffee production on one of the many plantations or visit the Reach Falls surrounded by the tropical jungle. The most idyllic bay is Frenchmans Cove.
You stay in small-scale hotels near or in the middle of nature!

Kingston, the capital of Jamaica
At the foot of the southern Blue Mountains lies Kingston, the capital of Jamaica. It is the cultural center of the island, the true mecca for the music lover. After your visit to the simple yet impressive Bob Marley Museum, you will know how important this reggae king has been for Jamaica. Visit one of the recording studios and make your own reggae record.
In addition to the many other beautiful colonial buildings, Devon House and the National Gallery museum are well worth a visit. Did you know that the most important pirate city in the Caribbean was located on the headland in front of Kingston? Visit Port Royal and see the remains of this former pirate hideout. Recently also a walk from Cultural Yard in the ghetto Trench Town accompanied by a local guide. Not suitable for everyone because of poverty. Don’t forget to plan the walk at Waterlane along the “street art” of downtown. And don’t miss the Grand Parade of the Carnival in April.
