Gorilla tracking Uganda<\/h3>\n

Face to face with one of the most intelligent animals on earth… the gorilla<\/a>.
\nWow I get goosebumps again when I think about it. We “walked”, it was sometimes more of a scramble, through the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest<\/a> with the guides. “Impenetrable” means “impenetrable” and the guides cut away the vegetation with machetes and create a path. Our shoes sink into a layer of earth and plants, a thick carpet on the floor of this beautiful, ancient rainforest. <\/p>\n

That we will see them is certain, because early in the morning the trackers will go out to see where the different gorilla families are. They all have a silverback as leader and little ones, the latter means that they will not change places easily. After more than an hour we find them, what an amazing spectacle<\/a>, what social animals, how cool to be able to observe them for an hour. <\/p>\n

Diverse Uganda<\/h3>\n

Uganda is mentioned in the same breath as the gorillas, but the country has so much more to offer. For example, you can go on safari in one of the many national parks and spot the Big Five. For example, Queen Elizabeth National Park<\/a>, where you will find lions sleeping in the trees. This Pearl of Africa is also a real bird paradise<\/a>. The strangest bird is the “shoebill stork” which is up to 1.50m high, looks prehistoric and has a huge beak in the shape of a……. Shoe! <\/p>\n

Large butterflies, in the most special colors, flutter through the woods and in the beautiful gardens of the small-scale lodges. Immense trees of hundreds of years old have branches full of bird’s nests of the weaver bird. If you sail on the Nile, you will see elephants along the bank or in the water. Huge pelicans, goliath herons, marabou storks are looking at you, hundreds of colorful bee-eaters nest in the bank walls. <\/p>\n

Climb to the top of the Murchisons Falls<\/a> and watch the mighty Nile squeeze through a 7-meter crack and thunder down. The sun glistens on the water, the river meanders through the African landscape like a silver ribbon far below.<\/p>\n

Meet your Karamojong people, they still live just like hundreds of years ago. In huts made of straw and branches. Or the Batwa, a pigmee people with an average height of 1.60 meters. <\/p>\n

The “Pearl of Africa”<\/h3>\n

Uganda is “The Pearl of Africa” and that does not only apply to nature. The people are extremely friendly and speak English, the food is delicious, the products come straight from the land. You can go hiking, cycling, horseback riding, bungee jumping and rafting on the Nile. <\/p>\n
