The most famous wildlife parks in Malawi<\/h3>\n

Majete Wildlife Reserve<\/a> (South): The most important park for the “Big Five”. Here you can enjoy a classic safari. Interestingly, it is a textbook example of successful nature restoration. <\/p>\n

Liwonde National Park<\/a> (South): The lifeblood of this area is the Shire River. Enjoy unique boat safaris to see hippos, crocodiles, and drinking elephants up close. This is also a top destination for bird lovers. <\/p>\n

Nyika National Park (North): Loved for its unique landscape, from vast plateaus to huge grasslands. Here you can see large herds of eland antelope, roan antelope and zebra in a completely different setting. <\/p>\n

Nkhotakota Wildlife Reserve (central): Malawi’s largest and oldest game reserve had only 100 elephants left in 2015 from the original 1,500 pachyderms. After one of the largest elephants and wildlife translocations ever, financed by African Peace Parks, it is now bursting with wildlife. In addition to safaris by car, it is a popular area for walking safaris. Climb the Chipata Mountain<\/strong><\/a> for an unforgettable view of the area. <\/p>\n

In addition to spotting the Big Five in a number of special national parks with breathtakingly beautiful landscapes, you can visit the islands in Lake Malawi.<\/p>\n

Lake Malawi<\/a> National Park: a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is the place to relax and snorkel after the safari among more than 500 species, often endemic, cichlids. Feel like Robinson Crusoe on Mumbo Island<\/a>, far away from the daily hustle and bustle at home. <\/p>\n

There are many outdoor activities. Think of hiking, swimming and diving. But also snorkeling, water skiing, sailing, kayaking, parasailing and boating. You can watch animals in the game reserves. You can see crocodiles, lions, elephants, hippos and leopards <\/p>\n
